Australia: Savvy women stick to budgets

Cost-conscious women shoppers in Australia are reluctant to spend more on non-essentials such as clothes and accessories unless prices are marked down, a national shopping survey has found.

Many remain cautious and have begun to carefully manage their spending, the AMP Capital Shopping Centres survey found.

With interest rates rising and a federal election looming, women may need a confidence boost before a retail recovery kicks in.
