The runway presentation marks the Italian luxury label’s return to China’s capital city after an absence of 11 years. The collection is Prada’s reinterpretation of its spring 2012 collection for both men and women and the addition of new styles. The collection was first shown in 2011 at Beijing’s Central Academy of Fine Arts museum, the same year that Prada went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
China was recognised as one of Prada’s most important markets last year. The Chinese market first showed promising signs in 2018 and 2019 when its sales increased by 56 percent for the 12 months that concluded on 31st December.
The fall 2022 collection will be displayed in Prince Jun’s Mansion, a courtyard hotel in traditional Chinese design in the heart of Beijing. The location has historical significance, once functioning as the home of Qing dynasty Prince Jun.

“Prince Jun’s Mansion seemed the perfect setting to celebrate once again our ongoing dialogue and commitment to Chinese culture that we have pursued with different activities throughout the years,” said Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, co-creative directors of Prada.
