Located inside Mumbai’s Jio World Drive shopping precinct, the new Maison Margiela India store opens in partnership with local department store chain Shoppers Stop and L’Oréal International Distribution.

“Exciting news! Maison Margiela has officially arrived in India at Jio World Drive, thanks to the incredible partnership with L’Oréal International Distribution. Unveiling a world of unique and avant-garde fashion experiences,” announced Shoppers Stop beauty CEO, Biju Kassim, via Linkedin.

Inside, the new Maison Margiela India store boasts an all-white colour palette, for a minimalist and modern aesthetic.

“And so it starts,” said L’Oréal International distribution general manager for Asia, Pacific Charles-Alexandre B. “Thank you Biju Kassim and congratulations to all teams with special thanks to Felicia Yeo and Ayandip Das.”

Designer Martin Margiela launched his namesake luxury fashion brand Maison Margiela in 1988. Since its inception, the Parisian house has launched jewellery, accessories, footwear, leather goods, and fragrances.

In 2002, Maison Margiela was acquired by the OTB Group, a holding company led by Renzo Rosso, also owner of the Italian fashion label Diesel. Gaetano Sciuto was appointed as the brand’s CEO in June last year, while Stefano Rosso was named president.

L’Oréal International Distribution is part of beauty giant L’Oréal Group and works with distributors across the world to retail a number of labels including Maison Margiela.
