LuLu Group strengthens its presence in Malaysia

Lulu Grocer, a full-fledged supermarket selling fresh food and an extensive range of imported products, will open its first store in South Malaysia at Toppen Shopping Centre in Johor Bahru later this year. Lulu Grocer at Toppen will be the fifth branch to open in Malaysia.

First established in the early nineties, LULU HYPERMARKET, the retail division of the LuLu Group is a fast-growing retail chain in the Middle East and Asia. It is a one-stop shop that provides a conducive shopping environment and competitive pricing in the market with operations in the UAE, India, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Malaysia, and Indonesia. LuLu Group entered the Malaysian market in June 2016. It currently operates 4 branches in Malaysia.

“Lulu Group Retail plans to launch five more Lulu hypermarkets in Malaysia this year. Launched in November 2019, Toppen boasts 1.2 million square feet of retail space with a lease rate of 90 percent and houses over 300 tenants including IKEA Tebrau, TGV Cinemas, Harvey Norman, and many other exclusive retailers and F&B offers. Toppen continues to evolve by providing its community with new offers and experiences, with the addition of Lulu Grocer and the construction of a multi-storey car park that is due to be completed in Q4 2022.
