The on-site store engages the public in environmental protection in a fun way with #MEGA Sustainability Reward Program, which shoppers can earn rewards by achieving green tasks, as simply as dropping their beauty empties to the recycle bins in store (from L’OCCITANE or other beauty brands), making a green new year wish or commitment with the Tree of Wishes, or completing a 3-min personal carbon footprint evaluation, etc.

Collaborating with different green groups or individuals, #MEGA SUSTAINABILITY CONCEPT STORE will regularly host a series of pop-up eco-themed workshops, in order to inspire public participation in recycling.

L’Occitane’s eco-charity initiative recognises the urgency of reducing plastic waste. Therefore L’Occitane is collaborating and supporting A PLASTIC OCEAN FOUNDATION (APO) with an upcycle project that aims to transform post-consumed plastics into rPET products. APO is a charitable organisation registered in Hong Kong, dedicated to create
a wave of change to stop plastic pollution. L’Occitane has already provided 40 kg of PET collected from customers to APO for future recycling into rPET products.

As of today, all L’OCCITANE boutiques in Hong Kong currently offer in-store recycling. With the support from L’OCCITANE, APO has created 1,000pcs of #MakeEarthGreenAgain Sandwich Bags made from rPET and 1,500 pieces of rPET towels, made from PET plastic waste, collected by A Plastic Ocean Foundation’s socially impactful recycling initiative.

In the #MEGA SUSTAINABILITY CONCEPT STORE, shoppers can relax and shop selected low waste products, including soaps, and Aromachologie hair care range that is 98% biodegradable in 100% recycled PET bottles. ECO- REFILLS for shampoos, conditioners, shower gels and hand wash, are always the favours for green consumers.

Buying a ECO-REFILL instead of a bottle can save up to 77% of plastic. L’Occitane’s is saving roughly 200 tons of plastic every single year. Limited Edition – Happy Shea Collection, a recyclable ally of 4 body care products, will be exclusively available at this concept store and eshop only. Part of the profits from the Limited Edition – Happy Shea Collection will be donated to support APO’s upcycle project.
