South Korea’s key consumer sentiment index rose to a near one-year high in April while inflation expectations fell to a 13-month low, a central bank survey showed on Wednesday, indicating inflationary pressures may be gradually easing.
The Bank of Korea said in a statement that its consumer sentiment index rose to 104 in April from 101 in March, pointing to a more optimistic outlook on living conditions to come. April’s reading was the highest since May 2011.
