S Korea GDP slows

South Korea’s economic growth slowed in the second quarter from the first on less government stimulus spending, adding weight to the view that any monetary tightening for the rest of the year will be limited and gradual.

Gross domestic product rose a seasonally adjusted 1.5 percent in the April-June period from the previous three months, when the economy grew 2.1 percent from the earlier quarter, the Bank of Korea said on Monday.
