South Korea’s smartphone exports topped USD300 million in May, up 135 percent on year, according to the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy. However, overall handset exports declined by 29.8 percent from a year earlier to USD1.75 billion due to lower average selling prices and increased production overseas.
