N, S Korea keep Kaesong complex open

As South and North Korea traded economic sanctions and criticism this week, leaders in both countries stopped short of interfering with the biggest economic connection they have: a joint industrial zone where around 120 South Korean companies employ more than 40,000 North Koreans.

Even as the two Koreas spar verbally over the sinking of the Cheonan warship two months ago, the Kaesong complex emerged as too important for either country to close.
