GU opened its first South Korean store in Seoul in September 2018, and until now has operated three stores as well as an online store. However, due to uncertainty caused by such factors as a necessary reconstruction of its business configuration, including e-commerce channels, and the impact of COVID-19, the company will cease store operations from around August of this year.

Additionally, the GU online store will continue to operate until the end of July. FRL Korea, as part of the Fast Retailing Group, plans to continue selling select GU product collections via the UNIQLO Korea online store in future.
