Hong Kong shopping centres target Mainland Chinese consumers

Shopping centres in Hong Kong are set to organise more shopping tours to target the growing pool of middle-class consumers in Mainland China.

Sun Hung Kai Properties said on Tuesday it would spend HKD6 million to promote three of its shopping centres for Mainland Chinese tourists this year, up 20 percent from last year.

"Our focus this year is to attract more middle-class consumers," said Fiona Chung Sau-lin, the company’s General Leasing Manager.
