Japan’s MUJI to open hotel in Beijing


MUJI Hotel Beijing, which is managed by UDS Co., Ltd, will be officially open in Beijing in the second half of 2017, marking MUJI’s entry into the country’s hotel industry.

MUJI, UDS Co., Ltd and its parent UDS Ltd. jointly signed the brand cooperation agreement for the MUJI Hotel Beijing project. Locating at Beijing Fun, which is located at the southwestern side of Tiananmen Square, the new MUJI Hotel Beijing is a major move for the global business implementation of MUJI brand.

All products in MUJI Hotel Beijing, covering rooms and public areas, will from the MUJI brand and guests can experience those products and the concepts of MUJI while enjoying the hotel services.

The hotel has 41 rooms from medium-end to high-end, providing diversified options to consumers. The first floor of the hotel will have a cafe, hotel store, bookstore, and lounge. The fourth floor is equipped with a restaurant and bar with the view of Tiananmen Square; and the basement will have a MUJI store.

UDS Co., Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of UDS Ltd. and the company’s representative work is the design hotel pioneer “Claska” in Japan. Based in Tokyo, UDS Ltd. focuses on planning, design and management of hotels and its businesses span the world. With years of experience in Japan, UDS will bring its new hotel ideas to Beijing.
