China inflation slides to 20-month low

China’s annual rate of consumer inflation slowed sharply to a 20-month low of 3.2 percent in February, comfortably within Beijings this year target of 4 percent, giving policymakers room to further loosen monetary policy to support slowing growth.

Analysts say abating price pressures give Beijing space to loosen policy and reduce the amount of cash commercial banks must hold as reserves at the central bank.
