Opening in the southern city of Shenzen, which boasts a population of 12.53 million people and is located some 1,400 kilometres from Shanghai, the new store for Doe Shanghai has bowed in the business district of Futian, marking its third store to opening.

Inspired by East Asian architecture, the new Shenzhen store façade boasts a minimal, modern design.

Inside, the space is accented with material iron, wood and concrete, contrasted against natural elements such as plants and stones.

Co-founded in 2014 by Terry Zhu, Doe — which means friend or acquaintance — already operates two stores in Shanghai, located in Jingan in Xintiandi, opened in 2014 and 2017, respectively.

In keeping with the other Shanghai stores, the Shenzen store will also sell Doe Coffee. As part of the coffee bar, the store boasts a wooden lounge for guests to sit and drink, with magazines on offer for light reading with refreshments.

The brand did not disclose if any more stores would be opening in the near future, including international outlets.

Doe Shanghai is a multi-brand streetwear retailer offering brands such as Nike, Converse, Jordan, retaW, as well as its signature label Doe.

In July, Doe Shanghai announced it had collaborated with streetwear brand Patta for a “Double Happiness” capsule line, marking Doe’s fifth anniversary.
