In an announcement on Monday, Canadian luxury outerwear company Canada Goose announced the appointment of Larry Li as the President of the company’s China operations. Li will be responsible for the company’s commercial, marketing, and financial activities in its mainland China market. Based out of the company’s regional headquarters in Shanghai, Li will report to Paul Cadman, President of Canada Goose Asia Pacific.

“Larry is a proven strategic leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and exceptional business development skills,” said Canada Goose’s Chairman and CEO Dani Reiss. “Running China from China has been pivotal to our success in the market. Larry’s luxury expertise in China makes him uniquely suited to lead the local team, drive our business forward and seize the strategic opportunities that we see ahead.”
Having previously served as Managing Director for China at Dunhill, Li brings 20 years of luxury experience to Canada Goose. He held various senior management roles for Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Kenzo in Shanghai and Tokyo before joining the LVMH Group.

Alongside the announcement, Canada Goose continues to expand its business in China, where it first entered the market in 2018. Mainland China also represents the brand’s where the brand has its largest retail network, with a total of 16 Canada Goose stores located there.

Canada Goose opened its first store in Xi’an in May 2022, and plans to open three additional stores this fall in Tianjin, Qingdao, and Chengdu. Upon launching its inaugural footwear collection last fall, the brand plans to further diversify its offerings and strengthen its ties with local design talent, such as its Fall/Winter 2022 collaboration with Feng Chen Wang and Xu Zhen.
