HSBC has brought a new Premier Centre to Elements, the 1 million square-foot shopping centre in west Kowloon, Hong Kong.

The grand opening which held yesterday was kicked off by a Chinese lion eye-dotting ceremony. Mark McCombe, CEO of HSBC, Hong Kong eye-dotted a lion at the event, symbolising prosperity and good luck to shop’s business. The event was followed by a dragon dance on Element’s ice skating rink.

McCombe said in the opening speech that HSBC is deeply committed to the Hong Kong market. He is delighted to see HSBC’s new Premier Centre is open in Elements.

"Branches continue to play a pivotal role in personal financial services and are critical to our strategy in Hong Kong. Today’s opening of the Elements’s branch underlines our commitment to developing the Hong Kong market and offering first-class banking services via our comprehensive branch coverage," he said.

In 2010, HSBC has launched dedicated zones in major HSBC Premier Centres to serve the growing demand of customers from mainland China and Taiwan. Currently the dedicated zones are available at branches in Mongkok, Central, Causeway Bay, Sheung Shui and the Hong Kong International Airport. At all the new branches, including the HSBC Premier Centre at Elements, signage will be available in not only English and Traditional Chinese characters but also in Simplified Chinese characters to provide greater convenience to the bank’s expanding client base.

Elements, which opened in 2007, is located on 1 Austin Road West. The shopping mall is flanked by a number of the city’s high-profile residential building such as The Arch and Sorrento, as well as Hong Kong’s tallest commercial building ICC, the 484 skyscraper.
