L:a Bruket debuts in K11 Musea, Hong Kong

L:a Bruket announced the launch of a new store in Hong Kong’s cultural-retail destination K11 Musea. Opened on November 24, the new store marks an exciting moment for the Swedish brand: its first shop in Hong Kong. Designed with subtle references to L:a Bruket’s founding alongside specially commissioned art, the multi-faceted space offers a moment of relaxation and reflection for locals.

Inside, soft gray clay covers the walls, contrasted by a central unit of baked earth. Forming the focal point of the store, the red brick-lined counter references the humble industrial building that L:a Bruket started out in. Elsewhere, raw, sinuous aluminium shelving makes a counterpoint to the wooden joinery that wraps around the building’s columns. Topped with a handcrafted wash basin created by co-founder Monica Kylén, the undulating sink serves as a test area for body and hand products.

In an intimate setting at the back of the store, a booth has been formed for private facecare consultations. Crafted out of Nordic spruce plywood, the construction of the seating echoes the materials of Sweden’s traditional bastu bathing cabins.

For its opening, a one-off artwork was also commissioned for the store. The wider creative community that surrounds L:a Bruket is an important part of its work. With this in mind, the brand turned to painter Cassie Agazzi Brooks, an artist with close familial connections to the team. Her triptych of portraits, Adina in Clay Mask, captures the brand’s long-term model Adino Rosado as she applies, wears, and washes away a clay face mask.

Founded 14 years ago, L:a Bruket is a beauty brand that holds a holistic vision of beauty and well-being, strongly influenced by the spa culture and wildlife of its home on the west coast of Sweden. Ingredients taking inspiration from the sea, land, and forest of the region are paired with biotech formulas, to showcase the brand’s philosophy – ‘innovation driven by nature’.
