Cartier global travel retail director Virginie Martignac said, “Chongqing is an indispensable part of Cartier’s travel retail strategy in China.

“The new boutique at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport strengthens our strategic presence in this important domestic travel hub, allowing us to provide an elevated airport shopping experience to Chinese travellers and further enrich our travel retail footprint in the Chinese market.

“We look forward to sharing Cartier’s interpretation of the mountainous city, and the Maison’s iconic creations and exceptional hospitality with travellers in the upcoming years.”

The store’s design, notable for the house’s vibrant red and gold palette, combines simplicity and elegance, creating what the brand owner described as an artful contrast of softness and passion.

Among the prominent displays is a bespoke artwork featuring Cartier’s famed panther fresco set amid Chongqing’s unique architectural landscape.

The fluted interior patterns are an aesthetic illustration of the city’s dynamism, while the circular ceiling design with a golden patina completes the look.

The boutique highlights the brand’s signature pieces, including a range of jewellery, timepieces and accessories in the women’s area. These collections are showcased amid a champagne colour palette, complementing the contemporary chandeliers overhead.
