Dell to grow services business in China

Dell Inc. on 24 March said it aims to expand its services business in China amid a broader industry focus on services because hardware profits have dwindled.

"We do intend to grow in China, both organically and by acquisition," says Peter Altabef, president of Dell Services, at a briefing to discuss the computer maker’s services business in China.

Dell has said it will invest USD25 billion in the Chinese market. As part of its effort to expand its services segment, Dell closed its purchase of information technology services provider Perot Systems in November 2009.
