Chinese tourists spend average of USD356 a day in Taipei

A mainland Chinese tourist spends TWD10,526 (USD356.32) daily on average in Taipei, which is USD102 more than Japanese tourists, the city’s Department of Information and Tourism (DOIT) said on Wednesday. Chinese tourists spend over 70 percent of their budget on shopping and about 10 percent of Chinese tourists favour buying luxury goods, including coral products and high-end watches.
