Benjamin Vuchot to lead The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels as CEO

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited has named ex-DFS Group CEO Benjamin Vuchot as its new executive director and chief executive officer, succeeding Clement King Man Kwok, effective from March 3, 2025.

Established in 1866 and publicly listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels spans hotels, commercial and residential properties across Asia, the United States, and Europe, including the iconic Peninsula Hotels brand.

Vuchot’s appointment follows Kwok’s decision to step down from his positions as managing director and CEO by October 31, 2024.

Kwok will transition to an advisory role as an executive director.

During this interim period, Christobelle Yi Ching Liao, executive director and chief corporate governance officer, will serve as the interim CEO until Vuchot formally begins in March.

Vuchot brings more than three decades of experience in the luxury retail sector with industry giants Richemont and LVMH.

His career includes significant roles at Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, DFS Group, and Sephora, showcasing a wealth of expertise in the global luxury market.

Upon assuming his role, Vuchot will join the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, and the Group Management Board, in addition to becoming a director of select entities within the group.
