Auto makers in India post mixed November sales

Car makers in India had a mixed sales performance in November, with Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra and Ford posting growth, while Hyundai Motor, Toyota and Tata Motors recorded declines.

In the two-wheeler segment, sales at Yamaha Motor Co., Suzuki Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co. increased, but TVS Motor Co. reported a drop.

Vehicle sales in India have been on a downward trend this year, mainly because of higher loan rates, rising fuel prices and fears of job losses in a slowing economy.
