Australian supermarket loyalty cards one-sided choice

Australian supermarket reward programs are one-sided, with shoppers trading a great deal information for few financial benefits, a consumer watchdog in the country says.

For every AUD100 (USD87) spent at supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths, shoppers are only likely to see on average a AUD1 (USD0.87) return if they belong to a loyalty programme, a study by Choice says.
