Amazon MP3 Store optimized for iPhone, iPod touch

The Amazon MP3 store is now optimized for iPhone and iPod touch, allowing users to discover and buy digital music from Amazon’s 22-million song catalog using the Safari browser.

The Amazon MP3 mobile website for iPhone and iPod touches is built on HTML5, which means customers can make purchases directly from the Amazon MP3 mobile website www.amazon.com/mp3 on their iPhones and iPod touches.

Customers will also have access to Amazon features like personalized recommendations, best-seller lists and Amazon customer ratings.

Music purchases are automatically saved to customers’ Cloud Player libraries and can be downloaded or played instantly from any iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Kindle Fire, Android phone or tablet, Roku, Sonos home entertainment system, or any web browser.

Meanwhile, the Cloud Player is available in a Free tier and a Premium tier. Cloud Player Free customers can store all MP3 music purchased at Amazon, plus import up to 250 songs from their PC or Mac to Cloud Player.

Cloud Player Premium customers, on the other hand, can import and store up to 250,000 songs in Cloud Player for an annual fee of USD24.99.

All Amazon MP3s are DRM-free, work on virtually any device that plays MP3s, and can be played from Cloud Player on Kindle Fire, Android phones and tablets, iPhones, iPads, iPods, Sonos home entertainment system, or any web browser.
