Whole Foods Market commits to cutting energy use 25pc by 2015

US-based Whole Foods Market – the world’s largest retailer of natural and organic foods, which also operates locations in the UK and Canada – has announced it is strengthening efforts to reduce energy consumption at all stores by 25 percent per square foot by 2015.

The chain is also committed to wind energy, more on-site renewable energy, and aggressive green building, advanced refrigeration and transportation practices, which will result in significant emissions reductions, it says.
