Intel CEO gets 18pc salary hike in 2009

Intel Corp.’s CEO Paul Otellini and four other top executives received a considerable hike in their compensation packages for 2009, due to a sharp rise in performance-based bonuses and an increase in stock awards.

Otellini received total compensation of USD14.6 million in 2009, an 18 percent hike from USD12.4 million in 2008, according to the company’s filing with the US’s Securities and Exchange Commission. Although his base annual salary remained at USD1 million, Otellini’s performance-based bonus climbed 36 percent and the value of his stock awards rose 54 percent.
