HKIA issues tender invitation for commercial catering concession at T1

The Airport Authority Hong Kong invites interested operators to participate in a tender process for Commercial Catering Concession at Terminal 1 of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

Situated at the departures & arrivals levels (both restricted and non-restricted areas) of Terminal 1, the nine outlets are sized from 19 sqm to 464 sqm. The premier locations present superb business opportunities, supported by a double-digit growth in catering sales in 2011/2012.

HKIA has welcomed 53.9 million passengers in 2011, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.9 percent. Over the years HKIA has been awarded for many prestigious awards, including the world’s Best Airport Dining consecutively from 2009 to 2012 in Skytrax surveys, and also Best F&B Marketing & Promotions, Airport Food & Beverage Awards of the Moodie Report in 2010.

Over 80 dining outlets in HKIA provide an array of the world’s finest cuisines, from scintillating sides to Michelin-star creations, while serving a continuous stream of affluent customers who demand choice and quality. As a result, 51 percent of departing passengers and 31 percent of well-wishers and greeters dine within the airport, many of whom spend on average around four hours in HKIA. The catering licences offer businesses exposure to a diverse range of travellers with strong purchasing power.

The tender will close on 6 July 2012 at 11am Hong Kong time.
