Interactive building facade in Japan tweets you back

Terada Design Architects and digital production company Qosmo have created an intelligent building facade in Tokyo that can speak to your mobile phone.

The commercial tower is covered with QR codes – two-dimensional bar codes that can be decoded at high speed. Passers-by can use their mobile phone to photograph the building facade and receive the latest information about the shops inside.

There is also an iPhone application that allows people to see comments left by users, browse shop information and download coupons. Using GPS, the application tags tweets made by the building’s inhabitants via Twitter and makes them available to the user.
