JD Sports to open second Australian store

JD Sports Australia Store Opening Melbourne - Retail in Asia

Britain’s JD Sports will open a second Australia store this month, following the successful debut of its Melbourne flagship earlier in the year.

The sporting goods and apparel retailer will open a new store at Pacific Fair mall, on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

Covering 400 square metres, the new store will sell major brands such as Nike, Adidas and The North Face, and stock apparel, footwear and accessories for men, women, and children. It will also sell 50 products that are JD Sports-exclusives to the Australian market.

Located alongside Zara and Uniqlo, JD Sports will open in the newly renovated section of Pacific Fair, which continues to welcome the arrival of both international heavyweights and local retailers.

Pacific Fair’s revamp comes at a time when mall rival Robina Town Centre ramps up its eating precinct with the launch of a new food court-cum-marketplace, The Kitchens.

Located just ten kilometres apart, the two shopping centres are the main retail hubs on the Gold Coast, a popular holiday destination for Asian tourists in Australia.

JD Sports first entered Australia with a physical Melbourne store and online shop in April. The debut marks the eleventh country outside the UK for the company to have a presence in.
