Marcolin partners with Adidas on eyewear products

Italy’s Marcolin Group has inked a five-year licensing agreement with Adidas Group pertaining to the German firm’s eyewear products under the Badge of Sport and Originals labels.

Under the new agreement, the Italian eyewear firm will be entrusted with the design, manufacturing and distribution of Adidas’ eyewear products, up until 2024.

The first Adidas eyewear products overseen by Marcolin will hit the market at the beginning of 2020.

“Today’s sportswear embraces and influences the entire fashion and accessory industry and we are very excited to begin collaborating with a legendary brand as Adidas,” said Massimo Renon, CEO of Marcolin Group.

“This partnership represents a further milestone in our strategic view.  We are adding an iconic brand to our portfolio, complementing our presence in the eyewear sporting goods industry,” he continued.

“This agreement marks once again Marcolin Group’s targeted company strategy: to join with modern, global and unique brands that leverage their innovative DNA. We feel privileged to work together with Adidas and apply their philosophy in eyewear,” Mr. Renon added.

The Marcolin Group brand portfolio includes Tom Ford, Bally, Moncler, Sportmax, Ermenegildo Zegna, Victoria’s Secret, Roberto Cavalli, Atelier Swarovski, Tod’s, Emilio Pucci, Swarovski, Dsquared2, Guess, Diesel, Just Cavalli, Covergirl, Kenneth Cole, Timberland, Gant, Harley-Davidson, Marciano, Catherine Deneuve, Skechers, Candie’s,
Rampage, Viva, Marcolin and Web.

In 2018, the Longarone-based company said it sold about 14.6 million eyeglasses during the twelve-month period.

Headquartered in Herzogenaurach, the German company employs around 57,000 people across the globe and generated sales of just under €22 billion in 2018.

In the Asia-Pacific region, Adidas operates scores of stores across Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
