Roger Vivier unveils new global marketing, comms director

France’s Roger Vivier has appointed Violante Avogadro di Vigliano as its global marketing and communications director, effective immediately.

As a newly created role, the global marketing and communications director will be entrusted with leading the Tod’s-owned brand’s marketing, digital, public relations and partnership strategies on a worldwide level.

Avogadro di Vigliano boasts 15 years of experience in the luxury market having worked for major brands such as Gucci, Ralph Lauren Home and Montblanc. It was at the latter company that the executive for the past four years served as global director of public relations and the cultural foundation at the brand’s headquarters in Germany.

She succeeds Roger Vivier’s longstanding global communications director, Cristina Malgara, who departed the Tod’s group company recently.

Tod’s named its new General Manager — Umberto Macchi di Cellere – on December 1, 2017, with Macchi di Cellere set to take on the role of CEO in April 2018.

The Italian group replaced Stefano Sincini, a manager who has worked for the luxury label for 33 years.

The footwear group’s sales have been declining for some time as it continues to restructure. The Italian luxury company reported preliminary sales of 963.3 million euros in the 12 months ended 31 December 2017.

This was a 4.1 percent decrease compared with one billion euros the previous year. In 2017, sales of the Tod’s namesake brand were down 7.7 percent to 515.7 million euros.

Hogan revenues decreased 4.8 percent to 203.9 million euros, while Roger Vivier was up 7.8 percent to 179.3 million euros in sales.
